Prunus caroliniana- Carolina Cherry
This shrub is used primarily as a hedge.
It is moderate to fast growth with a small trunk and non aggressive root system.
Carolina cherry has been confused with Ligustrum texanum- Texas Privett. The Carolina cherry is softer in appearance and a lighter green color, whereas the Texas privet is a thicker darker green leaf.
